Brigitte started her K9 Nosework career in 2011 with her newly adopted German Shepherd Nero who was extremely shut down
coming from a shelter. The benefits of Nosework to the dog became very clear and she was hooked. Subsequently, every other adopted dog immediately in her household became a Nosework dog.
In 2017, Brigitte decided that in order to help more dogs within the shelter environment, she entered the CNWI training program to provide legitimacy to her volunteer work. As a prior nursing instructor and mentor in the professional setting, teaching was very natural fit for her personality.
Although she still has a German Shepherd, she currently competes in the Elite level with her English Springer Spaniel Rudi.
Brigitte became a Certifying Official and NACSW judge in 2026. She also hosts ORTs and Sniff n Goes in her community to provide opportunities to the local Nosework enthusiasts.
Continued education is very important to her, not just in the classrooms, but also as a volunteer for professional working dog organizations (SAR, etc.).
