Jason is the owner of HengTen K9 in the Leander, Texas (Austin metro), specializing in K9 Nose Work®. Jason has been teaching K9 Nose Work® classes since 2012 and has been a NACSW™ Certifying Official for trials since 2015. Jason has worked as a K9 handler doing bed bug detection; logging hundreds of detection hours all over Texas. Since becoming a CNWI in 2013 he has been working to grow nosework in Texas by hosting over 20 trial days at all levels. He enjoys competing at all trial levels and has been a competitor in over 75 NACSW™ trials in 17 states with his 3 Shibas; Atlas (ELT-CH) Bailey (ELT2), Lexi (NW3 Elite) and Labrador Rio (NW2). In addition to teaching weekly classes, Jason shares his trial experiences with nosework enthusiasts by teaching seminars and has been an instructor at four K9 Nose Work® camps around the country. Jason is assisting in bringing K9 Nose Work® Camp to Texas which will occur in January 2018 near Austin, TX.
Before moving to Texas in 2009, Jason, his wife Katy and daughter Jamie lived in Colorado for many years.
