K9 Nose Works hosted the first all-level K9 Nose Work Trial

ELEMENTS OF THE INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION:

(100 point total)

Dogs in were searching for the target odor of BIRCH, ANISE and/or CLOVE oil, depending on their title level. Scented cotton swabs were hidden in search areas not be visible to the handlers. In the time limit given, handlers had to cover the search areas with their dogs and identify where their dogs indicated the source of odor. When they believed the dog had correctly indicated this information, the handler announced to the judge, �ALERT.� The judge then confirmed the accuracy of the find, and awarded the appropriate points and total time for the find. Each title level increases in size of search area and difficulty.

The top placements in this competition were awarded on accuracy first, and then the shortest total time for each find.
