2017 NACSW National Invitational

NACSW is pleased to share details about the 2017 National Invitational

November 3-5, 2017

Eastern States Expo Center
West Springfield, MA

•3 full days of trialing for all qualifying teams.
•Scoring will be cumulative over all 3 days of trialing.
•There will be no "finals".

• The qualifying period will be January 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.
• We will use each dog's highest score achieved at a single Elite Division trial as their qualifying score.

To qualify, dogs must meet both of the following criteria:
• Dog must have a qualifying score that places them in the top 40 qualifying scores.
• The dog must have earned a minimum qualifying score of 70 at an Elite Division trial.

If a team declines the invitation we will move to the next highest scoring dog as long as the dog has earned the minimum qualifying score of 70. In the event multiple dogs have the same score in the initial top 40 scoring dogs we will invite all dogs with that score. In the event that a team declines the invitation and there are multiple dogs with the same score next on the list we may opt to not fill the space unless enough spaces are declined to invite all dogs with that score.

We will keep an updated list of the current qualifying standings at: nacsw.net/elite-trial-scores-max-score-dog. This page will automatically update as new Elite Division trial results are loaded into the system. One dog/handler will be allowed to participate in the event. Any current NACSW member may handle any qualified dog.

We are not able to guarantee that each team with an NW3 Elite will get a trial opportunity at an Elite Division trial during the qualifying period. Elite trials are being approved as requests are received by trial hosts with viable trial sites.

Note: As we continue to mature as a sport, we will be evaluating ways to improve. As a result, qualifying criteria for future NACSW National Invitational after 2017 may be adjusted. We might require more elite trial scores to show consistency (for example maybe the best score at 2 or 3 trials). However we are aware of the current wait list situation and will not make this shift unless/if this situation is improved. Another possibility is to add regional qualifying events where teams would qualify to participate in a regional event and their participation at that event would qualify them for the national event. Other options will also be considered.
